The View from C-Level is a periodic blog published by William Newman, consultant, author, writer, educator and professional speaker.  He serves as  Senior Industry Advisor (Chief) for SAP in discrete industries, particularly automotive. Mr. Newman has over 30 years of experience in strategy and IT planning across multiple industry sectors. He is a Certified Management Consultant since 1995 and has led several consulting practices at Booz|Allen|Hamilton, DMR Consulting, KPMG BearingPoint, Newport Consulting Group, and Grant Thornton.

His strategy work with high growth and Fortune 500 companies – from software start-ups to services firms to associations to green techs – has made him a leader in developing mindshare and market share for his global client base. His clients have included world-class manufacturing and service organizations such as Boeing, General Motors, Volkswagen, Northrop Grumman, Honeywell, and Intel. He holds a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering from the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA, and an M.B.A. in management and international business from the Conrad L. Hilton School of Management at Loyola Marymount University. He has held a number of faculty appointments at Northwood University, the University of Oregon (Sustainability Leadership Program) and the University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Business.  His titles include “Financial Planning & Analysis using SAP Enterprise Performance Management” (2014) and “Understanding SAP Enterprise Performance Management” (2010) both by SAP Press (Rheinwerk). He is a frequent writer and speaker on strategy, innovation, governance, sustainability, management and technology topics.
